How to Explore Magnolia at the Silos: Your Guide to a Charming Getaway in Waco, TX

This post is all about how to explore Magnolia at the Silos.

I’m ready to spill all the tea on one of my most recent travel spots: Magnolia at the Silos in Waco, Texas.

If you’re a fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines like me, you’ve probably dreamed of visiting this iconic destination.

I recently had the pleasure of spending some time there, and let me tell you, it exceeded all my expectations. So, grab your favorite coffee and get cozy because I’m about to take you on a virtual tour of Magnolia at the Silos!

Hours, Parking, & General Info

Magnolia at the Silos is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. While planning your visit, keep in mind that Magnolia Market is closed on Sundays to allow visitors and employees time for rest and reflection.

However, Magnolia Table operates on different hours, welcoming guests from Monday to Saturday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Silos Baking Co. and Magnolia Take Away follow the same schedule as Magnolia Table.

As for parking, there are several free parking lots available nearby, but they can fill up quickly, especially on weekends and during peak tourist seasons.

Consider arriving early or using alternative transportation options like rideshare services to ensure a hassle-free visit.

Additionally, be sure to check the Magnolia website or social media channels for any updates or changes to operating hours before making your trip.

Getting There

First things first, let’s talk about how to get to this magical place. Waco is conveniently located in central Texas, making it accessible by car from major cities like Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

If you’re flying in, the nearest airports are Waco Regional Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. From there, it’s just a short drive to Magnolia at the Silos.

It was a planned 4 hour drive for my family but it being the first road trip with our newborn son and toddler, we made a couple of pit stops and arrived in 5 hours.

Magnolia Table

No trip to Magnolia at the Silos would be complete without a visit to Magnolia Table, Joanna Gaines’ charming restaurant that serves up delicious comfort food with a modern twist.

From fluffy pancakes and savory biscuits to hearty sandwiches and fresh salads, the menu is filled with mouthwatering options for breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

The cozy, farmhouse-style atmosphere invites you to linger over your meal and savor every bite. Plus, don’t forget to snap a photo in front of the iconic turquoise door—it’s practically a rite of passage for any Magnolia fan.

Trust me, you’ll want to make a reservation in advance to ensure you get a taste of this culinary gem.

We stopped by Magnolia Table on a Wednesday around noon – peak lunch time – so our wait was approximately 45-60 minutes.

If the wait time is long, I’d suggest taking a drive around to explore the city while you wait to receive the text message that your table is ready.

I ordered the Farm Breakfast which was absolutely delicious and my husband ordered the Gaines Brothers Burger. Our server suggested I get the sausage gravy for my biscuit and it has to be one of my favorites!

I’ve also heard raving comments about the strawberry butter for their biscuits.

If you decide to skip the wait, you can always grab a pre-packaged item from Magnolia Take-Away adjacent to Magnolia Table.

From freshly baked pastries and gourmet sandwiches to artisanal snacks and refreshing beverages, this charming shop has everything you need for a delicious al fresco dining experience.

The Magnolia Market

Ah, the heart and soul of Magnolia at the Silos—the Magnolia Market. As soon as you step foot onto the grounds, you’re greeted by the sight of the iconic silos towering against the Texas sky.

The market itself is a shopper’s paradise, filled to the brim with Joanna’s signature farmhouse-style decor, unique gifts, and adorable knick-knacks.

Exploring the Market: Take your time strolling through the aisles, soaking in the rustic charm and creative displays. Trust me, you’ll want to snap a million photos of every corner.

Must-Buy Items: Don’t leave without picking up a Magnolia Home candle (my personal favorite is the scent Linen), a Silos Cap, and a bag of their famous Magnolia Seed + Supply garden seeds.

Magnolia Home

Nestled within Magnolia Market, Magnolia Home offers a treasure trove of Joanna Gaines’ signature home decor pieces, furniture, and textiles.

Whether you’re in the market for a cozy throw blanket, a statement piece of furniture, or just seeking inspiration for your own home, prepare to be enchanted by the carefully curated displays that showcase Joanna’s timeless style and attention to detail.

Take your time browsing through the thoughtfully designed rooms and vignettes, and don’t hesitate to ask the friendly staff for design advice or recommendations.

It’s the perfect place to find that special piece that will add a touch of Magnolia magic to your own space.

Silos Baking Co.

If you have a sweet tooth like me, you’ll want to make a beeline for Silos Baking Co. The smell of freshly baked cupcakes and cookies hits you as soon as you walk through the door, and it’s pure heaven.

Indulge in Treats: Treat yourself to one (or two, or three) of their mouthwatering cupcakes and cookies—I highly recommend the classic vanilla or the lemon lavender cupcakes and the Silo Cookie. Pair it with a creamy latte for the ultimate indulgence.

Pro Tip: The line can get long, especially on weekends, so try to visit during off-peak hours if possible.

Silos Baking Co. was our first stop upon arrival at Magnolia at the Silos and wait time was about 15 minutes (on a Wednesday afternoon).

The Silos Lawn

After fueling up on sugar and caffeine, head over to the Silos Lawn for some relaxation and people-watching. This sprawling green space is the perfect spot to unwind, have a picnic, or let the kids run wild.

Picnic Time: Pack a blanket and some snacks, and claim your spot on the lawn. Bonus points if you bring along a game like cornhole or frisbee to keep the fun going.

Live Music: Check the schedule for live music performances—they often have local artists serenading visitors with soothing tunes.

Magnolia Seed + Supply

Green thumbs, rejoice! Magnolia Seed + Supply is a gardener’s paradise, filled with a curated selection of plants, gardening tools, and outdoor decor.

Plant Shopping: Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a newbie plant parent, you’ll find something to love here. From succulents and herbs to beautiful blooms, the options are endless.

Workshops and Demos: Keep an eye out for workshops and demos hosted by gardening experts. It’s a great way to learn new skills and get inspired for your own green space.

What to Wear

If you’re an overthinker like me, you’ll likely plan a couple of different outfits.

I planned to wear my linen pants with a nice ruffle-sleeve top and sandals but the weather was actually yucky during our visit, so I was thankful to have packed back up clothes.

I paired my linen pants with a pullover sweater and my Adidas Sambas which was perfect since most people dressed very casually.

Final Thoughts

I hope this virtual tour has inspired you to plan your own visit to Magnolia at the Silos.

Whether you’re a die-hard fan of Fixer Upper or simply looking for a charming getaway, this place has something for everyone.

From shopping and dining to relaxation and inspiration, Magnolia at the Silos truly is a little slice of Texas paradise. Until next time, happy travels!

Xoxo,

Diana Colibri
