In this post, I’ve compiled 19 comfy maternity outfits by trimester I wore and loved!
Let’s talk pregnancy outfits—because when you’re growing a tiny human, getting dressed can feel like an adventure in itself.
I went through my entire pregnancy trying to balance comfort, practicality, and feeling somewhat put together (because trust me, some days I just wanted to live in a robe).
Looking back at photos, I can’t believe my bump didn’t really show until the second trimester.
In the beginning, I was basically just bloated and confused, but by the end? Let’s just say, the belly made a grand entrance.
If you’re expecting and wondering what to wear for each stage, I got you.
Whether you’re sweating through summer mornings, embracing fall layering, or figuring out how to stay warm while massively pregnant in winter, this list has maternity outfits for all seasons.

First Trimester Maternity Outfits
Ah, the first trimester—full of secret nausea, weird food aversions, and wondering if your stomach is growing or if it’s just last night’s pasta.
Since my bump was pretty much non-existent, I wasn’t diving into maternity clothes just yet. Instead, I stuck with loose, breathable pieces that didn’t make me feel restricted.
If you’re dealing with first-trimester bloating, stretchy waistbands or any fabrics with extra stretch will be your best friend. Here’s what I wore:
1. Fitted Ribbed Dress
Because looking put together without trying too hard is a win. The fitted style hugged in all the right places, making me feel cute even on days I was exhausted.

2. High Waisted Stretchy Pants
Light, airy, and forgiving. Perfect for keeping cool while still feeling stylish.

3. Stretchy Midi Skirt
I was barely showing during my first trimester, but my jeans were already feeling a little restrictive around my waist, so I absolutely loved pulling a skirt above my belly and tucking in a cute top.

4. Satin Skirt and Cropped Top
A satin midi skirt has to be one of my favorite wardrobe pieces of all times. You can wear it so many ways and it’s absolutely comfortable!

5. Leggings & Cropped T-Shirt
Because sometimes you just need to feel held in. The high waist gave subtle support without feeling too restrictive.

6. Two Piece Biker Short & Matching Top
This two-piece outfit is so versatile and extremely easy to throw on for any casual outing.

7. Two-Piece Gauze Set
If you don’t own a gauze set like this one for Spring and Summer, trust me when I say you need this!
This is something that can be worn outside of pregnancy outfits as well but is perfect for wearing during the first trimester.

Second Trimester Pregnancy Outfits
Welcome to the phase where the bump finally pops! This is when I truly started dressing for pregnancy, and let me tell you— clothes actually labeled “maternity” entered my life, and it was absolutely great!
The second trimester is that sweet spot where you have more energy, the nausea (hopefully) fades, and you start feeling pregnant-pregnant.
Since it was the end of summer and the beginning of fall, I loved layering and playing around with different textures.
8. Flowy Silk Skirt & Bodysuit
This outfit is stylish while still being incredibly comfortable. The silk skirt drapes beautifully over the bump, and the bodysuit gives just the right amount of support without feeling tight.

9. Flowy Wide Leg Pants & Tank Top
The wide-leg pants have insane stretch, which gave me all the room I needed while still looking put together. I paired with a striped sleeveless top and sandals for an easy, casual outfit.

10. Puffer Vest with Leggings
Ideal for those in-between weather days. The puffer vest keeps you warm without overheating, and the leggings are always a go-to for maximum comfort.

11. Stretchy Jumpsuit
A second-trimester MVP. The stretchy fabric grows with the bump, and I love how easy it is to style— you can layer a long sleeve underneath to keep warm or a tank top during warmer weather.

12. Midi Dress
The perfect way to show off the bump! The stretchy material hugs the belly just right, and can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion.

13. Overalls Look
Possibly the cutest pregnancy outfit ever! This wide-leg overalls outfit is chic but still very comfortable, with adjustable straps that make it easy to accommodate to a growing belly.
They also pair well with any top – long sleeves, tank tops, or sweatshirts.

Third Trimester Maternity Outfits
Okay, this is when things got real. My bump had fully taken over, and getting dressed required strategy.
Comfort was my number one priority because bending over? Practically impossible.
The key was soft fabrics, stretchy waistbands, and layers that kept me warm without making me overheat (hello, pregnancy thermostat issues).
Here’s what got me through:
14. Silk Skirt and Boots
A chic combo that still gives max comfort during Fall and Winter months. Trust me when I say that a silk skirt will be your best friend during the third trimester.
With a stretchy waistband, it allows movement and pairs well with a sweater and tall boots.

15. Matching Lounge Set
The ultimate third-trimester win! Nothing feels better than slipping into a soft, stretchy set that requires zero effort while still feeling put together.

16. Sweater Dress
Warm, cozy, and roomy enough for all bump sizes. Plus, it looks great with boots or sneakers.
I added a baseball cap for a street chic look 😉

17. Midi Silk Skirt and Sweatshirt
As mentioned, a silk skirt is a must have for your maternity wardrobe. Pair a silk skirt with a cozy sweatshirt and ballet flats for the perfect mix of dressy and comfy.
The silk skirt gives a little elegance, while the sweatshirt keeps it casual and cozy.

18. Flowy Blouse and Maternity Pants
This outfit was a go-to for when I wanted to look a little more polished.
The flowy blouse is bump-friendly and a great pair of maternity pants are a must-have at this stage.
I actually ordered two pairs of these extremely comfortable & affordable maternity dress pants.

19. Leggings and Cardigan
Another classic wardrobe piece for a maternity wardrobe is a cozy cardigan.
Just throw on a cardigan over leggings and suddenly the outfit looks like you put more effort into it then you actually did.

Pregnancy is a wild ride, no doubt, and figuring out what to wear shouldn’t add stress to the mix.
Whether you’re in the early days of “is this a baby or just a big lunch?” or in the final weeks where your belly enters the room before you do, these maternity outfit ideas will keep you comfy through every stage.
And remember—whatever makes you feel good is the right choice.
Which trimester are you in? Let me know in the comments!
